Paul Hashemi of Faint Halos Releases Second Single “Skyline Hill” ahead of August 2024 Album

Singer-songwriter Paul Hashemi, the frontman of Faint Halos, has released new single “Skyline Hill.”

This is the second single from his upcoming album, “I can see a million lights“, slated for release in August 2024. The track encapsulates the essence of a serene summer evening at the Mann Center, inspired by Hashemi’s reflections on Philadelphia’s unique mix of intimate settings and expansive views.

Hashemi describes how observing Philadelphia from a distance allowed him to appreciate the city’s comprehensive, interconnected beauty:

Philly is a city of small, intimate places – every place you go feels local and familiar, which is amazing. But that night, from a distance, I could see the whole city as this single, vast whole.

The single features a blend of acoustic and electric guitars, keys, bass, drums, and vocals, with a notable contribution from the eBow on the lead guitar. Hashemi experimented with a “fluttering” technique for the solo, combining a left-hand trill with volume swells from the bow. This approach adds a unique texture to the track.

Recorded, produced, and mixed in Hashemi’s home studio in Berwyn, PA, with additional vocals captured in North Carolina, “Skyline Hill” is characterized by its airy, minimalist arrangement and haunting, distant guitar melodies. The song’s bridge is inspired by a timeless quote, adding depth to its lyrical content.

Hashemi’s musical journey, marked by classical training and touring with rock bands in the ’90s, has been one of perseverance and passion.

After stepping back to focus on family, the pandemic reignited his creativity, leading to the formation of Faint Halos. His debut album, “I can see a million lights“, explores introspective themes through poignant lyrics and dynamic arrangements, heralding a creative rebirth in his music career.
