Interview with Adam Aldama (Sizzle)

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman August 24, 2016 9:42 am Tagged With: Pop, R&B, Sacramento

Sizzle-to-Akademia.jpg

Adam Aldama aka Sizzle, was born and raised in Sacramento, California where he has been performing since he was a child. He has a natural talent for music, singing, and performing. Sizzle’s greatest passion in life is music.

As a young child, he loved to sing in the choir at church with his grandmother. Her encouragement sparked his interest in singing professionally. His main musical inspiration was Michael Jackson. Sizzle emulates a lot of Jackson’s style into his songs and show performances.

Adam began writing his own music when he was 13 years old and has been recording for years. Each song is filled with catchy lyrics and smooth vocal melodies. His inspiration is from those around him.

With his family friendly mentality, Sizzle says, “I write music anybody can listen to. I got some tracks for the rollers, some tracks for the clubbers and I don’t even cuss that much so you can bump it with your mother.”

Introduce yourself to our readers and describe the style of music you create.

Adam Aldama, aka Sizzle!   I am a down to earth kind of guy. My music genre is Pop & R&B. My sound is very melodic and danceable.

Sizzle, with the innocent boy band look, curly hair, bright eyes, and a smile that never fades captures the attention of his audience and makes them want more.

Who or what influences your playing and/or writing styles? Also, what motivates you to keep creating?

My grandmother had a huge influence on me. Ever since I was a young child, I loved to sing in the choir at church with her. She was the one to spark my interest in singing professionally. She helped me to believe in myself and my music. I knew I wanted to achieve something big with it.

Michael Jackson influenced me the most. He’s a great artist, so I strive to be a great artist.

The fuel to my fire is my past. Whenever I want to write a breakup song,  or a song about struggle, new love, happiness, etc, I refer to a past memory of a relationship I had been in or how I had felt at that particular moment.  I was in love a long time ago and when you get your heart broken in a ground-breaking type of way, it impacts the way you are, the way you view people and how you view certain things in the overall picture of how you live your life.  So I do stand by the fact that artists need some kind of struggle or pain to go through in their life to help the creative process move along. No sunshine without no rain, right?

What was the last song you listened to?

I listen to my debut album, Love Potion, and specifically “Eyes On You”.

Other than the digital era overwhelming us with access to an abundance of music, what are one or two of the biggest challenges you face when trying to attract listeners to your music?

Getting my music played on mainstream radio.

Do you gig, tour or perform through any live streaming services? Where can music lovers see you perform?

I am always working on new music. New music and videos are in the works as we speak. You can look forward to a follow up album that will be better than the debut. That’s the main goal, to make the next album hit twice as hard as the first one.  Music lovers can see me perform locally in California while getting ready to hit the world stages.  Also, see me perform on http://www.youtube.com/TiminMusicEnt

Any last thoughts? Shout outs? Words of wisdom?

It doesn’t matter if you have an audience of 15 or 10,000. You always have to go out there and give it 110%. Don’t ever think you’re too good for something that seems like it’s not worth your time. It just takes one person to turn your career in a 360.
