SoCal based bluegrass/folk/roots duo Alpha Mule have released an engaging, roots rockin’ new single titled Corpus Christi.

The distant train kicks off the song with some mood-setting atmosphere before we are guided through a melodic and fast paced barrage of banjo runs, sweet sounding pedal steel, driving rhythm, the classic sound of an upright bass and the feeling that you’re on a train moving fast through the barren landscapes of the American Southwest.

Alpha Mule consists of Joe Forkan and Eric Stoner who also accomplished visual artists and educators. Their high caliber of musicianship only adds more potency to this great sounding but somewhat haunting soundscape. As the energy picks up, you feel the train chugging faster and faster as steel guides steel through sunrises and sunsets.
