An Interview with V K Lynne on AITP and Google Plus

by C Bret Campbell May 30, 2013 2:13 am

The Spider Accomplice photographed downtown Los Angeles on 05/13/12I’ve always enjoyed V K Lynne and am pleased to bring you this interview with her on Artists in the Plus’s success with their totally G+ Compilation Album, in this interview we talk with +VK Lynne about G+ and her involvement in the recent AITP Compilation Album.

How long have you been making music?
Since the womb…I was gestated to the Beatles Rubber Soul:)

What are some of your inspirations?
God, pain and hope. I think all good music is made from these materials in some form.

How long have you been using G+? Tell us about your favorite little quirks of the Plus style.
Only a few  months…it’s kind of wild that we live in a world where I can sing to it in my drawers and it’s perfectly acceptable.

How do you feel about being a part of this album?

Glad that I could help in some way. I don’t have a ton of time to be able to participate as much as I’d like in the ‘In the Plus’ events, and so I was very happy that I could contribute to this compilation.

What is your favorite song on it? Why?
Now that’s a loaded question…;)

[not really ;)]

What do you think of Google Plus in general, and do you see anything “special” for musicians or other artists, there?

I think it’s still finding it’s way in some regards, but it’s innovative and it’s not afraid to be itself- I like that. I think it absolutely holds promise for artists who now have an accessible platform to play to fans and friends anywhere within the reach of their computers. For artists who simply can’t afford to tour, the value in this cannot be overstated.

What’s next on your musical horizons?

I’m in 2 bands right now that are both releasing CD’s this summer, so I’ll have my hands full with that. I’m also in the process of launching my own Mad Musician idea that I’m hoping will help the whole community to make more music…stay tuned!;)

Anything you’d like to add?

“I’m in the throes of a reality web series right now entitled Glittermortis with Mary Zimmer of Luna Mortis that’s going to be culminating in a song release very soon, and that can be seen here: http://www.facebook.com/GlittermortisMusic

I also co-host a weekly podcast on iTunes, and we’re always looking for new artists to promote, so feel free to drop me a line about it! :

Also, I’d like to especially mention that one of the best things I’ve gained from Google+ is the friendship of fellow artist and compilation mate James Olmos. He’s been such a mentor/protector/fairy cybergodfather in this area, and I’m very grateful for his support. I’d say if more folks on Google + were like him, this place would be unstoppable!”
