Andy Evans Is Good With His 45

Andy Evans

Am I talking about a gun or a vinyl record? It doesn’t really matter because Andy Evans has a new fan and his song “45” is on my list of new favorites.

Growing up in Charlottesville, Virginia but now based in Austin, Texas, Evans has a new album coming in 2016 and you will want it for your indie music collection.

Raw blues that pierces your soul, lush instrumentation, gut churning riffs, unforgettable melodies, classic New Orleans style jazz, and the sweetest guitar tones you’ve heard resonating from this area of the planet in quite a while…

Meet Andy Evans. His new album, Miracles, is projected for a January 2016 release. So who is this guy?

Andy is a child of music. Having plenty of influences available growing up in Virginia Evans found himself fascinated by the classic rock of Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Rush. Like many of his era, he learned bass and guitar by playing along to his favorite records. Absorbing every note, every rhythm, every intricacy until he became one with the musical force.

Andy was introduced to Texas country, gospel and the red dirt music that was coming out of Oklahoma after joining the Navy and getting stationed in Ingleside, Texas. Moved by the sound, he began to write his own songs as a release and a way to document his journey.

Now with his feet planted in Texas, Andy is preparing for the release of Miracles. I can’t wait…well I don’t have to considering I’m jamming my advance copy for probably the 15th time now…

However, while you are waiting, go follow Andy on FB, Twitter or IG and let him know Joshua from MTM sent you. If he’s performing near you, go see him. I hear his live shows are an experience worth…well experiencing.

Out of nine singles on this record, each one stands on its own. Andy tells tales ranging from the valuable lessons his daddy taught him to the ups and downs of finding love and then losing it and all of life in between.

Miracles is raw, soulful blues-rock with a refreshing and exciting modern sound.

Now, back to rocking out with my air guitar while I listen to the rest of this record…again.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
