Aradia’s Possibilities:Light

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman November 12, 2013 2:27 pm Tagged With: Electronic, Pop

Possibilties Light by Aradia Seattle based singer/songwriter Aradia has carved out her own sound known as Roktronika.

With a love for new wave, trip hop, rock and hardcore electronica, Aradia has been immersed in music her entire life. She began playing piano at 3, flute at 8, and guitar at 14. She was also throwing her passionate vocals onto every song she could.

Born in New York City, Aradia studied at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. She dropped out and immersed herself into the world of rock and roll.

As part of Some Band, she played regularly in New York City at venues such as The Bitter End and The Wetlands.

She then began taking her next steps in Los Angeles where she met with longtime mentor and collaborator, Wirth Lawson. The two moved to Atlanta to start Twelfth Planet. As this band, they managed to become a mainstay in Atlanta clubs for the next 3 years.

This combination of talent eventually led Twelfth Planet to open for The Muse. They also played in front of an audience 100,000 strong at the Chicago Auto Show.

After Twelfth Planet, it was time for Aradia to go solo. Be sure to check out our review of her previous EP, Possibilties:Dark.

You would be safe in assuming that Possiblities:Light is the lighter side of the Possibilities project.

Delivering an out-of-this-world mix of sounds with a fresh serving of intelligence and a heavy dose of reality, Aradia stands out as a force to be reckoned with in the sphere of electronic music.

If Donna Summers and David Bowie were to come together for a collaboration with Trent Reznor, they would not be able to recreate the vibrant, creative soul of Aradia.
