August Walk Releases Impactful New Single, Ransom Now Available!

August Walk-Ransom

Irish rockers August Walk have watched two singles (One For The Road and Success) from their album (Straight Off The Rock) hit #1 on iTunes Ireland Charts!

Continuing off that momentum, the group returns with the delivery of a fiddle-infused, acoustic rock track titled Ransom.

Featuring strings, an emotive lead violin, acoustic driven rhythms and the gritty, bluesy vocals of David ‘Dots’ Tobin (who writes the majority of the songs for August Walk), Ransom is an impactful, stirring song that hits you deep in the soul.

It’s not just the lyrics that deliver the impact. It’s the way in which they are delivered. It’s in the way Dots Tobin expresses each line. Or the way the strings, and especially the lead violin, dig deep into your sensory system, setting the mood for the topic at hand.

It’s about Rodger Ryan’s ability to keep the rhythm with a smooth but driving drum and percussion track. And Mark Ryan’s ability to add depth to that rhythm with his bass, and Steve Leahy’s ability to add texture, melody and nuance to the song with his lead guitar playing.

In other words, the various talents of August Walk form a cohesive unit with undeniable chemistry that delivers powerful, emotion-grabbing, attention-holding songs. Fans of acoustic-driven, bluesy-folk rock are going to fall in love.
