Auresia Combines World, Reggae and Roots Music Into An Infectious Pop Package, Raíces Now Available

Auresia-Raices

Montreal based singer/songwriter Auresia fuses an infectious and uplifting blend of acoustic driven reggae, world, and various roots music from around the globe into an undeniably refreshing pop package.

With roots in the Ukraine, Auresia takes it back to her Raíces (aka roots) on her latest album with a melting pot of styles including Reggae, Afro-Cuban rhythms, a folk pop vibe and beautiful, enchanting vocal performances.

Stylistically, Auresia belongs on radio and playlists promoting pop but with the wide array of influences on her palette, there isn’t quite anything that compares to her sound in the pop genre.

On The Road Again opens with beautiful brass and continues with a simple but enchanting guitar, compelling melodies and a catchy hook which will have you singing along in no time. On the road is a great place to be and this is a great song to turn up loud, windows down, soul flying free.

High opens up as more of an American pop tune with piano and vocals but soon unleashes an uptempo, body-moving salsa groove that will have your adrenaline pumping and your spirits flying high as the clouds.

Good For My Soul features some intricately melodic classical guitar, Auresia’s soothing voice, and another catchy hook which will be stuck in your head long after the song ends. This song really is good for the soul.

Soul Harmony features infectious horns, more of those body moving rhythms, a jammin’ piano laying down the ivory spice and a jazzy vocal style resulting in some delicious icing on this harmonious layer cake.

On My Way introduces itself with refreshing wind instruments and moves into a slow, swaying groove and a tropical reggae feel. This song is a lot more Bob Marley and a lot less poppy, lyrically speaking. This is an excellent jam and I dig the substance.

Isn’t It Enough kicks off with a catchy guitar lick that drives the song through upbeat rhythms, Auresia’s concerned and compassionate vocal delivery, and a really sweet fiddle which drops in unexpectedly resulting in some warmly welcomed sonic nuance.

Raíces takes it back to Auresia’s Ukrainian roots with ethnic instrumentation, stories about her mother’s mother’s mother’s village surviving the war and the cold in the countryside and the history of where she comes from. With a simple but enchanting guitar progression and Auresia’s nostalgic, storytelling performance, this song builds into a really infectious pop-esque jam without comprising the true roots from which it blossomed.

Auresia is a shooting star. Raíces is now available.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
