by C Bret Campbell August 31, 2014 12:58 pm

Dylan-Lloyd-promo-GOYK1567Ra

I got to listen to “I Wish” by https://soundcloud.com/dylanlloyd (prod. Soundtrakk) from his new EP “One By One” that’s due out soon. Got to hand it to the guy, even though it hit me first as a pop song, I kept digging little things like the simple but real lyric, and the fact that he opted to drop […]

Don’t wait till Tomorrow, RoKK some Daniell Nelson, Today

by C Bret Campbell August 23, 2014 8:39 pm

da-tomorrow

Daniel Nelson sent me his track “Tomorrow” (DA Ent) the other day. I finally crawled out from under the house (literally) long enough to pay attention, today and man, I’m sorry I didn’t take a break sooner. I’ve been spinning this one for a half hour or so, now and recommend you do the same. […]

Gotta thank my buddy, Keith for turning me on to John Blake’s latest, “Your Light” (Upstormed). Here’s some cool hip-hop for ya with a great message, especially in these challenging times. The first time I heard Blake’s tune, I had one of those “is he talking to me,” moments. Reminding me to stay true and […]

DF&Bonafide-Stolen-From-Website

What do you do when the fourth song about drinking beer in the back of your truck to the key of A comes on the Nashville station? Well, if you are like me, you either switch to AM 650 or you plug in your Nexus or iPad and jam to some Daniel Bonte tunes for […]

KaceyJonesReverbNation

Kacey Jones is back on the Nashville scene (ha, like she’s ever not) with a new record! “Amen For Old Friends” (IGO) comes to us with a lot of good-ol-fashioned elbow grease, a lot of patience, and even a bit of “crowd-funding” (congrats!). Before we get to far, I’ll give ya full disclosure. I’ve been […]

Bonnaroo-Arch-2013

Middle Tennessee Music is Rockin all over the mid-state, especially at Bonnaroo in Manchester! This year’s line up is staggering, and we have at least 5 representatives on the grounds to soak up every moment! [-update: I’ve heard from 3 of them, counting me. Perhaps J-Gro is still on the Farm…] It’s currently 2:40 in […]

There’s an elusive chemistry between some singers. George and Tammy had it, and so did Olivia and John. Those kids from Nickel Creek had it, and the hottest example of it in Nashville at the moment are a duo known as Pretty Gritty. Pretty Gritty is the serendipitous joining of the talents of Blaine Heinonen […]

grave-of-the-unknown-soldier-1

From the press release by Michael Stover:   Nashville, 5/26/2014 Doug Briney embodies all things country: His personality is warm and inviting, some would say down-to-earth, recalling the disposition of many a Southern Gentleman from yesteryear. With a 2013 Independent Country Music Association (ICoMA) Award, a 2014 Nashville Universe Award nomination, and a 2014 ICoMA […]

Hey, Nashville! …”And the Walls of the City Will Shake”

the-colored-parade-a3993217622_10

No shit! The Colored Parade is here to shake, rattle and roll the city, the streets and the stages from Nashville. The whole world is fully aware of the music of Nashville… or at least they think they are. But, man I gotta tell ya, it’s not all glitzy glam I love my truck new-country. […]

Guys and gals, let me lay one on ya! I found 3rd Zen on ReverbNation the other day, thanks to the friendly suggestion of Sue (wife of one of the members of 3rd Zen). Let me just go ahead and thank her, right now! 3rd Zen are a west coast act getting ready to set […]

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
