Philly based singer/songwriter Bill McVail has returned with his latest EP Walk To The Light. The title track is currently in the semi-finals for the Unsigned Only Songwriting Competition. This is the second time Bill has seen his songwriting at this level of this competition; another of his songs, Redemption, also reached the semi-finals not too long ago.

McVail’s unique and refreshing song crafting balances the wire between pop and alternative rock swaying seamlessly across genres which results in an infectious and memorable sound. Flowing from in-your-face, aggressive rock to soothing ballad-esque pop-rock jams is no easy task but McVail does so with ease.

In the words of Bill,

A nation divided. No time to enjoy life. World coming down all around us. Just walk to the light. The inspiration for this album primarily came from the recent election, but the other songs have a message too. Don’t miss life, stay engaged.”

From the punk-infused attitude of the hard rockin’ intro (Night Is Coming) to the more mellow, poppy, acoustic driven soul of Sunshine back into the intensity and driving drums of Coming Down and ending with the soothing guitar and atmospheric vocals of the grand finale (and title track) Walk To The Light, Bill McVail puts his excellent and imaginative song crafting skills on full display. No wonder Walk To The Light made it to the semi-finals!
