We are Blackcatfish from Tullahoma,TN. representing Nashville. We make soulful, mood music.

How does it feel to be a part of Big Fella’s ASCAP showcase?

Its truly an honor to be apart of this showcase just because of the connections and recognition it brings.

What led you down this journey known as music?

We were motivated to do music because of our upbringing and surroundings. Music was an outlet, a way to express our inner most deep thoughts.

What are your thoughts on the local scene? How long have you been involved in it?

The local scene is like a rollercoaster, some time its Up and other times its Down. We know this because we’ve been apart of it since 2009.

What artists and/or producers {have you/do you} work with?

We’ve worked with Rio, Nesia Beatz(atl,Pittsburgh) H.I.T.S Production(Canada), and are currently working with Matic Lee and Tim Hill.

What can the audience expect from you at 12th and Porter on January 30th?

The audience can expect a HIGH Energy entertaining show.

Albums? Singles? Videos? Where can people find your music?

All albums are available for download on iTunes as well as the Blackcatfish Mobile App on all Android and iPhones. Be on the look out for our new single “We Ocean” available on iTunes as well as the video which will debut on WorldStar Feb 15th! New Mixtape “Oceanview” will debut on LiveMixtapes late Feb

Any last words or shout outs?

Bio

The Blackcatfish consists of three individual yet groundbreaking artists. First you got Sam Brixx, (C.O.O. of Originally Ent) the most gutta brick yet saavyist of the group. Then there is Slim Chance AKA Mr Hip Hop himself, the most versitle and illest MC in the game today. Last but not least you have 5’3″ (C.E.O. of Originally ENT)adding the head to this machine that we call “Voltron!”

With the “We Ocean” movement backing the Fish, their momentum has become tremendous. Their discography includes: 300 Series, which included the hit single Lord Have Mercy. The Tacklebox, and their 1st full album Fish Grease! Now working on their next major release entitled “OceanView”, Blackcatfish is sure to make some waves in the music industry!

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
