Bonnaroo 2011 – Morning 1

by C Bret Campbell June 10, 2011 9:08 am Tagged With: Bonnaroo

First things First

Breakfast on!

Good mornin’ from your Mid TN pie in the sky Bonnaroo field reporter! It’s Friday, the first full day of Bonnaroo. The first thing on everyone’s mind when it comes to Thursday at the roo, is Traffic. Well, there was none this year. “What!?”  That’s right, we are used to seeing Coffee Co. come to a complete crawl under the weight of around 100,000 extra vehicles for a few days. But not this year! Traffic flowed smoothly and The Staff, Coffee Co. Sheriff’s Department, and Tennessee Highway Patrol should be commended for the excellent job they did getting everyone in safely.

Thursday was  a fantastic day of meeting camp neighbors, exploring the farm, and checking out Centeroo. Oh, there was a little music, too.

Deerhunter

On Tap

Del McCoury, Arcade Fire, and My Morning Jacket are definitely on my music list for the day. Plenty of sunshine and water are, too.  Of course, I expect a tasty meal or two, and maybe a bit of groovy music (you think?)

Festival Essentials

Each year, we see lots of people forget to take care of themselves. In the Tennessee heat and humidity, it is very important to keep up with your health for a weekend like this. Be certain you drink plenty of water (no energy drinks – the caffeine will dehydrate you). Wear a hat! If you are trying to tan, 1 hour at a time is Plenty! Sandals and flip-flops should be avoided. Sturdy tennis shoes will keep your feet and legs much happier. Find shade often, and rest every hour for at least 10 minutes. And maybe most important, keep an eye on your friends, you can see if they aren’t well before they notice.

Keep these things in mind, and enjoy your day! If you are out here, find the Jedi and say “Howdy”. I’ll be shooting more photos today, and get you an update, “TomoRoo” – Peace

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
