by C Bret Campbell April 4, 2012 9:24 pm Tagged With: Nashville, United States

Honest Love

It’s not just the title of a beautiful record, but it defines Brian’s music – Honest  and straight from the heart! Brian has been featured on the Songs of Love for Japan Compilation CD among artists Sarah Barielles, Ani DiFranco and Tori Amos and his track “Color Blue” will be featured in two upcoming films in October, “Fake” with Gabriel Mann and Robert Loggia, and “Fathoms Deep”.

New-York-Based Artist’s Music Featured in Upcoming Films

April 3, 2012, New York, NY…Singer/songwriter

Brian Mackey is making his 2012 return to Nashville with a performance at the

Listening Room Café in Nashville, TN on Saturday, April 14 from 9-11 p.m.

Currently touring to support the recent release of his Honest Love CD, Brian Mackey is an honest, eclectic pop-infused rock, singer songwriter, with a twist of folkish Americana. One might say it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what genre Brian Mackey is, but no matter how you label it, it is heartfelt, witty and truly real. It’s just Brian.

Honest Love features the upbeat title track and the autobiographical and introspective song “Florida.” Brian Mackey also takes the listener on an emotional ride with the soulful “Sunshower” and the alt-rockabilly track, “Out On The Road.” Honest Love is available on iTunes, Amazon and all major online retailers.
A favorite of music supervisors and directors, Mackey’s music will be featured in several upcoming movies. “Color Blue” and “Honest Love” will be featured in The Boys of Abu Graib with actors Sara Paxton (Last House on the Left) and Sean Austin (Lord of the Rings), and in 29,000 Wishes, 1 Regret directed by Oliver Robins (Poltergeist). Other 2012 movies featuring Brian’s work include: “Color Blue” in Fake directed by Gregory Friedle, with Robert Loggia and Gabriel Mann, and “Color Blue” in Fathoms Deep.
Brian was selected as Viso music’s January 2012 Featured Artist and his music will be heard by passengers on US Airways In-Flight Radio. He is currently working on his next album which will feature special appearances from Nashville’s own singer/songwriter Sam Ashworth, son of songwriter and producer Charlie Peacock (Amy Grant, Civil Wars, Switchfoot), and Matt Slocum (lead guitarist, Six Pence None The Richer). The album, produced by Mark Nash (producer, Six Pence None The Richer), is scheduled for release later in 2012.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness.
