Camden Duo BELLA LOKA Release Abbey Road Studios Produced EP

‘Escape’ EP produced by in-house producer Rob Cass following Kickstarter campaign

Bella LokaCamden Town, London, based indie pop electronic duo BELLA LOKA have recorded their debut EP ‘Escape’ at the world famous Abbey Road Studios working with the in-house producer Rob Cass following a successful fan-funded Kickstarter campaign to raise the £10000 production costs. The EP is currently streaming in full at the band’s website www.bellaloka.com ahead of release on 2nd September 2014. The EP has been described as “vibrant… an infectious blend of indie pop and electronic vibes” (THE FLUX) and “addictive electro melody… dynamic… powering vocals” (Mistree Magazine)

BELLA LOKA are married couple Tea & David Boothby. Their sound is characterised by a combination of Kate Bush & Blondie-inspired vocals and electronica a-la Chvrches & Goldfrapp embellished with U2/Pink Floyd-esque guitars. The duo caught the attention of Rob Cass of Cave Productions, the in-house production team at Abbey Road Studios, who was excited by the unique and expressive vocals and alternative pop songs being written by singer Tea Boothby. Tea and David then embarked on an intense 15-day Kickstarter campaign last July in which backers were rewarded with specially created artwork by Tea Boothby and cover versions of songs by The Beatles and David Bowie, with the campaign reaching its £10000 goal just 5 minutes before the deadline.

The ‘Escape’ EP has already sparked interest from blogs and BELLA LOKA are currently undertaking an extensive UK tour taking in festival appearances alongside acts as diverse as The Feeling and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown in the lead up to the official release on 2nd September, and are currently working on material for a follow-up EP and album.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
