Suite 709 “Night & Day” Soul Party

by C Bret Campbell June 30, 2012 11:58 pm Tagged With: Pop, Soul

Scheduled for release 09 July 2012 “Night & Day,” the latest (or up-coming) release from Suite 709 hit my in-box last week, and it rocks! I could just end this review right there, but this isn’t Twitter… One of the things that I dig about what I do is the fact that I get to […]

United States of Being by Pujol

by Featured Guest June 28, 2012 2:25 pm Tagged With: Punk, Rock

I am ashamed to say I am late to the proverbial party when it comes to the Nashville rock sensation that is Pujol. So what to do when you’re late to the party? Immerse yourself in it as quickly as possible. I have read many articles and listened to as many songs as my phone […]

Local Spotlight – Ace of Coins

by Featured Guest June 28, 2012 7:39 am Tagged With: Alternative, Psychedelic, Rock

Ace of Coins is a 3 piece rock band out of Nashville currently playing shows in support of their release The Fool. They have been dubbed as “math rock” or “space rock” and have a very tight sound. No matter how you classify them these guys know how to rock. The Fool is five songs […]

A Labyrinth in music by Sergey Rybytskyy

by C Bret Campbell June 27, 2012 9:22 pm Tagged With: classical, composer, Electronic, Instrumental

On to other Worlds Once in a long while, I can be found at a loss for words. I’ve been stuck there for a bit, and when you here this selection, you may begin to understand why. I’ve been listening to Ukranian composer Sergey Rybytskyy’s “In Labyrinths of the Soul” and getting lost in it. It […]

Irene by Mize and the Drive

MusicTree alumni and rock superstars-to-be, Mize and the Drive dropped off a copy of Irene shortly after their set on opening night of the festival. Based out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee – Mize and the Drive are a rock group heavily influced by bands such as Dave Matthews Band, Wilco and the Greatful Dead. Though influenced […]

Full Breathing Costume by Mythical Motors (album review)

by Featured Guest June 22, 2012 9:11 am Tagged With: Pop, Psychedelic, Punk, Rock

Mythical Motors is a powerpop quintet from Chattanooga Tennessee. They are self described as sometimes rock, sometimes punk, always pop, always drunk. Recently I had the privelege of seeing them at the MusicTree Fest and their live show does not disappoint. Afterwards Mid TN Music got ahold of their release Full Breathing Costume. The feel […]

Local Spotlight – Joy of Painting

by Featured Guest June 20, 2012 2:23 pm Tagged With: Pop, Punk, Rock

Asterisk from Joy of Painting may be one of my favorite EP’s of this young summer. Joy of Painting is self-described as a two car garage pop quintet out of Nashville, TN and if Asterisk is any indication there is a long stream of great music coming our way from these guys. Starting with “Old […]

Local Spotlight – Ghost Ballerinas

by Featured Guest June 17, 2012 9:32 am Tagged With: Rock

The Ghost Ballerina’s, loosely based out of Shelbyville Tennessee, are a 3 piece Indie rock / alt rock group that recently sent Middle Tennessee Music their sophomore EP Play Me On The Radio – released in April. Play Me On The Radio is a solid group of songs starting from the lead single “Laser Beak Man”, […]

Between Perception and Regret by Transcend the Fallen (review)

by Featured Guest May 26, 2012 9:53 am Tagged With: Metal, Rock

Review By L.White “Do you Transcend?” That is the question put forth by Nashville, Tennessee’s 5-piece Melodic Hard Rock band Transcend the Fallen. I received TTF’s debut full-length CD “Between Perception and Regret” having only been offered that one sentence about the band. So I set out to find an answer to the ambiguous question. […]

Ready or Not – here’s Ben Knighten!

by C Bret Campbell April 23, 2012 12:50 am Tagged With: Acoustic, Americana

Ben Knighten hollered our way the other day, and we’re glad he did! We now have got our paws on his latest record, “Keep The Sky” (Circle 504 Records)  and that puts a smile on our faces. Ben’s an independent musician from out Colorado way. Now, I may be messed up in the head (don’t […]

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
