Bio

On June 30,1985 Shanetta Javae Motley A.K.A CoMpetitoN was born in Memphis, TN. She was raised in Orange Mound by her great grandmother Mildred Orange.  She was a very sheltered child who spent most of her time in church where she found her talent for singing at the age of five.  She began singing in the Youth Choir and became a soloists by the age of eleven. By the time she was twelve she started rapping on a local radio station during a program called the Roll Call.  She became a local favorite on the  station by the time she was in high school.  The name CoMpetitioN was given to her at the age of fourteen by her peers, noting that she was the CoMpetitioN that anyone had to beat if they wanted to be the best. She won numerous awards and accolades at Melrose High School including most talented.  She went on to college to continue her pursuit of music and won many contest and talent shows there as well.  Though she has seen and accomplished a lot during her quest currently CoMpetitioN is still working hard to perfect her craft and one day hoping to make it to the majors.She is currently working on an upcoming album entitled ‘All hail the Queen’ which will be released summer 2011.
