I knew Devin Farney’s album Magnum Passion was going to be something fresh, far from boring, and above the average album we receive from independent musicians.

[I included the word “yet” in the headline because I honestly hope Devin isn’t finished creating masterpieces any time soon. I would hate to call this his greatest work yet only to jinx any future chance of him sending us a greater work in the future 😉 ]

In our interview with Devin, I asked about his education. Devin holds a Bachelor’s of Music in Composition from Univeristy of the Pacific and a Masters of Music in Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

In layman’s terms, Mr. Farney understands music in ways your average musician/songwriter typically does not…and it shows in every track on Magnum Passion.

Devin combines the power of his musical knowledge with a pop appeal that delves into a psychedelic-jazz-rock soundscape worthy of comparisons to Pink Floyd and Radiohead.
