Bio

Everybody talks about getting money, but there’s only one D.O.U.G.H.

Originally from Paducah, Ky.’s southside, Jonathan Duo known as D.O.U.G.H., or Driven Only Under God’s Hands, has been grinding over lyrics and tracks since middle school, and he formed his first rap group shortly thereafter.

Now the 28-year-old rapper and producer is working diligently on his second mixtape, titled”Daily Bread”.

“I called it that because I feel like at 28 years old you learn from your mistakes you made in your early twenties, and it’s like a transition from one phase of life to another — almost like an awakening,” D.O.U.G.H. said.

The first song he remembers memorizing was “Boyz n the Hood” by N.W.A.

He currently resides in the Nashville area, though he was raised in Kentucky via Paducah and Hopkinsville. In recent years D.O.U.G.H. Has collaborated with Nashville-area artists such as C.P. Tha Baby Don, Charlie P and Kurtis Stanley, and has produced tracks for underground artists too.

“Daily Bread” is the follow-up to his first mixtape released in 2005, titled “Buildin’ Blocks Vol. 1”.

“I went on a hiatus to become more of a family man but music was still calling,” D.O.U.G.H. Said.

He’s already released a single from his latest mixtape — which is due out this spring — titled “Back On My Grizzly”.

“I’m also working on an EP with a producer from South Carolina titled The Genesis, I call it this because it will be like a formal introduction to my career, a starting point,” D.O.U.G.H. Said.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
