Drink Bleach Every Night…Not Really, But Don’t Miss Alix Diviant’s Newest Concept Album

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman April 19, 2017 7:35 am Tagged With: ambient, Electronic, house, industrial, techno, Texas, United States

Alix Diviant-Drink Bleach Every Night

Drink Bleach Every Night is the newest, multi-layered concept album by electronic/industrial producer and artist Alix Diviant.

Diviant being a combination of the words “Divine” and “Deviant”. The name can also be interpreted as a obscure reference to divination. (The practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown by supernatural means.)”

Planet Earth has been mostly abandoned… Those with enough resources and connections have fled the planet for intergalactic living while the less fortunate have been left behind under the rule of a fascist regime.

Through a well arranged, expertly crafted series of sonic movements, Alix Diviant takes us on a journey through the feelings, thoughts, and inner battles of those who were left behind.

[Tweet “Drink Bleach Every Night isn’t what you think! The new album by @AlixDiviant #nowplaying #np”]

Blending elements of electronic music with an ambient and breakbeat infused industrial attitude, Diviant has created a very engaging, soul searching record which reflects the very atmosphere in which these compositions were created.

The albums ambient texture was a result of the house I wrote and recorded it in. The house was dark and damp, claustrophobic and cluttered, the roof would leak and occasionally a wasp would appear out of nowhere. I spent an extreme time in total isolation when recording the album…”

About the title, Drink Bleach Every Night, Diviant says,

Drink Bleach Every Night doesn’t necessarily mean “Drink bleach every night.” One interpretation of the title has to do with killing parts of your personality, or stamping out your emotions to become an individual less troubled by the negative aspects of what’s in front of you, and instead more focused on understanding the bigger picture. Of course, the interpretations are endless.”

Alix Diviant creates infectious, imaginative, sonic novels.

Alix also creates comics, programs video games, acts and directs, played in an industrial metal band before focusing on production, and has volunteered as a Tang-Lang Kung Fu instructor…among other things.

The album is also available on Google Play.
