Space Pop, Trip Rock Duo EyE-C Deliver Sonic Soundscapes and Extra Terrestrial Stories On New Album, E

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman January 8, 2018 4:28 pm Tagged With: Electronic, Experimental, Indiana, United States

EyE-C

Indiana based space rock duo EyE-C have delivered an experimental, space pop, trip rock, electronic-infused project titled E.

EyE-C is the combined talents of funk futuristic composer and producer DJ Fathouse and Neo-Soul vocalist/poet That Guy. Joining forces in early 2016, these talented sonic sorcerers have been in the lab preparing their debut album. E is a cinematic, cosmic soundscape which presents us with a story told from the perspective of an extraterrestrial being who is not familiar with our world.

Buckle up and prepare for an unmatched aural experience.

With 19 chapters in this sonic novel, it is best to start from the beginning and listen to the entire concept album until it is finished. If you’re an imaginative person, it will be very easy for you to sit back, vibe out, close your eyes and envision scenes from sci-fi space fantasies occurring in your mind. For the all the genre terms that can be thrown around to describe this eclectic cinescape of electronic sounds and noises, at the foundation E is an experimental electronic album.

However, giving it any type of simple label as such is doing this project an injustice as it is much more than experimental or electronic or both terms joined as a compound descriptor. This is a composition. A movement of musical pieces which tells a much bigger story than any one song from this album does on its own.

EyE-C are not afraid to stretch their limits, push musical boundaries, blur the lines of genre classification and create soundscapes which are more like movies than they are songs.

E is available on Soundcloud or Spotify. You can also find them on Bandcamp.
