Feature Presentation by Oktayne (review)

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman July 26, 2012 6:42 am

Feature Presentation by Oktayne

Oktayne returns with Feature Presentation; his follow-up to the previously released Self-Explanations.

This collection of songs presents solid production accompanied by the focused and lyrical flows of Oktayne. Once you begin listening, you quickly realize Oktayne is a product of his environment and his main goal is to project the realism of that environment. Influenced by Hip Hop legends such as LL Cool J, Biggie,Pac, and Jay-Z, Oktayne still manages to bring a fresh delivery to the table while staying true to his roots.

The list of producers on Feature Presentation is worth paying attention to as well. Some of the names behind the beats include Bay Area production squad The Invasion as well as one of Oktayne’s friends, G-Funk. Other production comes from the likes of Colorado’s Kajmir Royale and Pittsburg, PA native Sledgren (of Taylor Gang).

When The Fresh Alliance asked Oktayne what sets him apart from other rappers, his response was: “I’m not a rapper because I think it’s cool, I rap because it relieves stress, it’s not about money or fame, if I don’t get success out of it, I will still rap no matter what. My name is Albert Devon Tatmon and that name is not a household government name in the rap game yet.”

With that said, I think its time for you to press play and discover the sounds known as Feature Presentation by Oktayne.
