Folk Fest May 5-7

by Tisha Emberton May 2, 2017 9:29 am

Banjos and bonfires breath life into the purple sunset sky atop Harrison Ferry Mountain TN-8 at the Stonewood Bluff Ampitheater (the old Pish-La-Ki amphitheater), 208 Pish la ki Circle in McMinnville, Tennessee from May 5 – 7, this Friday – Sunday. Gates open at noon on Friday, May 5. Mandah Morris was inspired in these mountains so she wants to invite everyone to enjoy home-grown music at Folk Fest. “I just want to invite my friends out to have a party and connect musicians with a great place to play,” said Morris.

As a teaser, Nashville native hit songwriter, Sean Gasaway will be kicking things off early at Collins River BBQ in McMinnville, TN May 4 at 7 PM and will perform at Folk Fest
on May 5 at 8 PM.

Sean Gasaway “She Blew Me Away”

Mandah Morris considers herself a free-lance event planner, and certainly has gotten her feet wet with organizing such an amazing event with promotions on radio, social media, big banner signs all around the city. Folk Fest has received big support from her radio family WFMC Jams who will also be supplying sound, broadcasting and streaming live for the entirety of the event. Folk Fest wants to thank sponsors Dr. Pepper, Citizens Tri-County Bank, WFMC Jams and Vendor Lularoe consultant, Amity Hargis who has helped out with e-mails, recruiting vendors and reaching out to the community about the event.

Travis Bowlin “See You Again” will perform Saturday, May 6.

Folk Fest is an event the whole family can enjoy with music that involves pickin’ and grinnin’, primitive tent camping, a petting zoo, “The Balloon Dude”, handmade crafts, food vendors (Collins River BBQ, Juicy’s and kettle corn), Lularoe clothing, Scentsy wax burners, Get Rich or Dye Trying tie dye merchandise, The Crooked Bench woodworking, chair massage by Joi Newby, event t-shirts, Jewels For You, Young Living essential oils and will offer a chance to buy Lazy Loungers to bring out the true spirit of enjoying the event in comfort.

We’re going to have a community bonfire after the last performer so everyone can sit around and jam! – Mandah Morris
