Working in academia, film, music and the written word, Savannah, Georgia based singer/songwriter Greg Smith has completed an impressive nine albums during his time as a recording artist.

His latest album, Waiting for the Truth, is now available and ready to please your sensory system. In this article, I will be focusing on his single What This Is.

With a strong foundation in Americana and folk styles, Greg delivers an acoustic driven, fiddle infused, desert rock-esque single that is, as my headline suggests, hauntingly awesome.

Just listen to that fiddle… It grabs you, it pulls you, it creates tension and release, and it just sounds really damn good! Kudos to the talented hands soaring through all those sweet runs. Combined with the guitar and Greg’s distinct voice, What This Is delivers the sonic goods.
