GREYE-Under The Weather

Daytona Beach, Florida based rockers GREYE are preparing to release their new album, Under The Weather, on November 1st (2018). I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy and I promise this is the band’s best album yet.

When I first discovered GREYE, it was a couple years ago and they had just released The Worrier. A year later they followed up with Windows. Now the group is back with ten tracks that jam harder than anything I’ve heard released prior to 2018.

The song structures are more refined, the musicality is more sophisticated, the instrumentation is the perfect combination of progressive-Americana-bluesy-rock and Hannah’s presence as the lead vocalist is stronger than ever. The band’s rigorous touring and performance schedule has guaranteed their chemistry is tighter and stronger than has been witnessed on previous records.

GREYE has proven to be the perfect example of what happens to a band that starts from scratch, pours their all into the DIY approach, and never stops moving. Each year the band gets better, their music improves, their shows impress more and more people, and, at this rate, nothing is going to stop them or slow them down until the band decides to pull the plug themselves.

Under The Weather is going to rock you, move you, surprise you and leave you wanting to 1) see the band live and 2) grab a copy of this album. From soaring guitars to soul-screaming organ solos and everything in between, this album is packed with pristinely produced recordings which contribute to the refined and more polished sound of this record.

I am having a hard time choosing select tracks to recommend for listening so let me just say Under The Weather is best enjoyed from beginning to end. It’s impossible to define GREYE with only one song and you are really missing out if you only take time to listen to one. I promise you that every single song jams!

GREYE remains one of the most solid bands I have been able to watch over the years as a music blogger. Witnessing their evolution has been filled with excitement and anticipation as we wait to see what happens next. Fine like wine, getting better with age.

You can preview Under The Weather below or check it out on Soundcloud.

Connect directly with GREYE on their official website, FB or IG.

Under The Weather will be available everywhere November 1st. Until then, see if they are performing at a venue near you.
