Brooklyn based experimental folk-blues creative Hank Midnight present us with an intriguing experience, concept, and story on his upcoming release Motel, due November 9th.

Hank takes us on an 18-song, 24-hour journey through the life of a motel resident and the people who inhabit it.

In the world of anthropology they call this type of work an ethnography…only without this really fresh soundtrack.

Originally from New Jersey, Midnight is now in Brooklyn expressing himself in an experimental, folksy blues or maybe a bluesy folk, sort of way. However you call it, these tunes rock.

Maybe we should just call it really good music.

The story takes place over the course of a single day, and it attempts to capture the humanity of the moment and the eternity of that which compels, destroys, connects, and revives the human spirit.

Motel is more than just great songwriting with smooth structures and precise arrangements. It’s an artistic documentation of spaces and places and how they weave into the human experience.
