Now that the noise of the holidays is starting to settle down, Ian Ward’s “Spend All My Time” feels even more at home. The song settles in to something more subtle and durable, which is the idea that time is the most honest measure of love.
Listen here:
Ward frames devotion through everyday moments rather than declarations. The lyrics focus on presence – showing up, sharing space, choosing someone consistently when there’s nothing flashy to offer. The chorus is an open invitation, asking for mutual effort without pressure. It is a subtle emotional exchange, and this gives the song its emotional weight.
“Time felt like the most honest thing I could offer someone I love,” Ward shares. “When everything else feels uncertain, the way you choose to spend your time says everything.”
Musically, “Spend All My Time” keeps things uncluttered. The arrangement supports the vocals and there is a theatrical depth in Ward’s voice but it is carefully held back, used with sincerity instead of dramatic effect.
That sense of trust feels earned. Ward is a Brooklyn based singer-songwriter, actor, and creative entrepreneur whose career spans more than two decades across music, theater, and film. He made his professional stage debut at just eight years old and grew up immersed in performance, eventually appearing on Broadway, touring internationally as well as working across television and film.
Even his brief moment earning a Golden Ticket on American Idol is less of a defining chapter and more like a footnote in a long, evolving creative life.

As a songwriter, Ward brings that performance history into his music without letting it overwhelm the songs themselves. His work blends pop forward hooks with a subtle rock edge and the emotional clarity of a Broadway trained vocalist.
Releases like his debut EP One Shot and recent single “Ocean Eyes” show his instinct for cinematic storytelling, but “Spend All My Time” pares things back, favoring intention over impact.
As well as his own recordings, Ward is deeply invested in the creative community. He is the founder of Mutual Street Entertainment and Hitmaker Collective, platforms focused on artist development and collaboration, and has worked alongside artists and creatives including Cyndi Lauper, Idina Menzel, Pat Benatar, Kristen Bell, Sir Tim Rice and Ryan Murphy.
With “Spend All My Time”, Ian Ward reminds us that the quiet choices are often the ones that last.
