Our Ship by Kin Cayo

Los Angeles-based indie rockers Kin Cayo announce their first single “Our Ship” from their debut EP, slated for release in April 2015. The untitled EP was self-produced alongside Eric Hoegemeyer, Erik Broberg, and Lukas Burton. The newest track showcases their energizing blend of Calypso vibes and melodic indie rock. Kin Cayo roughly translates from its Anglo-Spanish origin to “family of small islands.”

The band started out as a project from lead vocalist and guitarist Blake Hanley, and is now completed by guitarist John Graney, drummer Enrique Lara, and bassist Mike Torres. Hanley originates from South Florida and has used his surroundings as inspiration for the band’s sound. Since their inception in August of last year, the quartet has recorded a four track EP with a sound that is firmly rooted in their. Influences for the band include The Clash and Paul Simon.
