Violetic – Figure It Out
The feeling of the song (Figure It Out) was caused by the overwhelming sense of being chased constantly by your demons and forms part of a narrative that will be continued in the release of future singles this year. The single release was marked by a show curated by the band at Servant Jazz Quarters featuring spoken word by Camille Belliat, as well as projection art and XVI Record’s electronic due Tidelines. A video directed by Norwich artist Danny Bokenham is upcoming shortly.
Violetic are formed of Mitch (vocals & guitar), Rory (bass) and Christina (drums, samples & vocals). The music is a result of an aim to create a sound unburdened by genre and stereotype. Powerful, translatable and transportive live while also introspective and with a depth of meaning and sincerity.
Violetic have gained national air on BBC Radio 6 having received the praise of Tom Robinson and were also featured as a rare unsigned act on the CMU approved list. Notable live appearances include support for US bands Ringo Deathstarr at Electrowerks and Sargent House’s Marriages Hoxton Bar & Kitchen. The band’s next live appearance with be on July 9th at The Garibaldi Hotel in Northampton with Fox Chapel and BREEZE.
