Indie Music Spotlight – Top Pop Picks

Kytoon – Silently Rocking

Michael Kessler minces his struggles with depression, loneliness and fear of the future into a distinct blend of unfettered electronic pop at the helm of his solo music project, Kytoon. As a full-time college student at Middle Tennessee State University, lingering on the brink of adulthood at 21 years old, the young multi-instrumentalist spins potent lyrical confessions from his bedroom into a bold web of synths, melodic guitar runs and programmed beats that belie his introverted personality.

Since launching the project in October of 2015, Kessler has produced a stream of dynamic singles. Kytoon‘s debut release “Silently Rocking” contrasts clean electronic production reminiscent of Owl City with a heavily distorted guitar lead that decorates the chorus. The song tackles themes of prolonged loneliness; “It’s about my experience feeling helpless, trapped, and angry after moving 600 miles from home by myself–feeling like a bitter nobody stuck in his room all day making music that nobody can hear.”

Zita – C.Dion-A New Day Has Come (remake)

Zita is a Hungarian violinist, composer, arranger, and even a producer. She began her musical studies at the age of 10 years. After classical music she attended three years of jazz. After collaborating with many great artist ( Zucchero, Billy Branch and many others ) Zita decided to make an own project. Since finding the right producer seemed too complicated she began to produce her music herself.
