308 Ghost Train

In this interview spotlight, I chat with 308 Ghost Train about the new single, 21 Guns and a Million Tears, challenges, technology and more.

Full Q&A along with links and music below.

Listen to 308 Ghost Train on Spotify

Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)

We are from Cortez, Florida we create message oriented rock with a classic vibe.

What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to keep going?

I’ve been writing on Music Row for awhile and this year I won a POSI Award for song of the year. This sparked a performance of a newly written song called I’ll Unbreak your Heart (to be released in July) and that fueled an intense and overwhelming response thus the 308 GHOST TRAIN was born. John 3:08 says the wind blows where it pleases no one knows when it comes and goes but it’s in everyone born of the spirit. This resonates with me deeply I feel like my whole life has been carried on this wind and now it’s blowing me to my destiny

My passion for being the vehicle for songs from a divine force is the most humbling and honorable gift in the world. I write message oriented rock with a classic vibe. In my journey I have met so many disenfranchised music lovers that miss the glory days of Rock.  Many people have been magnetized by the walk back in time that I take them on through my songs it brings them back to better days and musically it re-energizes them.

How is this new release different than previous ones? Were you trying to accomplish anything specific?

I finally found my voice both in songwriting and performance. Now I have something to say as opposed to just saying something.

Name one or two challenges you face as an indie musician in this oversaturated, digital music age? How has technology helped you (since we know it does help)?

You can do your own promotion now with the help of many tech and digitally savvy people. The possibilities are endless if you spend your money wisely and cover all your bases. You can compete and become well known if your willing to work hard and keep learning. Do it yourself by surrounding yourself with people smarter than you!

What was the last song you listened to?

21 GUNS AND A MILLION TEARS

Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?

MP3’s

How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?

I prefer any platform that is fair to the songwriters and Artists since they are the ones driving this machine.

Where is the best place to connect with you online and discover more music?

All songs will be available across every digital platform iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, Google Play etc but the iTunes link for 21 GUNS and A Million Tears which is for sale May 24th is http://itunes.apple.com/album/id1464782599?ls=1&app=itunes

Anything else before we sign off?

I believe that 308 GHOST TRAIN is poised to rise quickly, especially with the introduction of and retro sounds of Greta Van Fleet. They’ve helped open the door for 308 GHOST TRAIN to pick up the whole world and take them back to a better future in Rock
