As seasoned Songwriters and Music Producers, we have expanded our services to international communities, in an effort to sustain the objective of producing and sharing quality Music to a global audience.”

In this interview spotlight, I chat with Amaze about the latest project, technology, challenges and more.

Full Q&A along wiht links and music below.

Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)

Greetings my name is Amaze and I am a Zimbabwean reggae artist.

What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to keep going?

Reggae Music has always been a natural calling for me. It is my belief that I was ordained to do Jah, the Almighty’s work through music. I started singing reggae music at a very young age (6 years old). I’m from Zimbabwe that has a very poor economy. Reggae Music motivates me, gives me hope to carry on Jah, the Almighty message to others, such as the production and content of my Anthropology album release project.

How is this new release different than previous ones? Were you trying to accomplish anything specific?

I’ve released a few Singles in the past and this is my very first Album project. This Anthropology release is much different; it’s on a higher level, much more content and the album’s message is meant to reach various communities of different cultures across the globe. This project marks a significant phase in my personal and business career. It’s not just about the words and the reggae beats, it’s about building on my passionate goal. By Jah’s glory, the professional doors will open.

Name one or two challenges you face as an indie musician in this oversaturated, digital music age? How has technology helped you (since we know it does help)?

There are so many challenges from my part of the world. The main challenges for me as an Indie Musician, is that there is so much talent in my local industry. Not having the relevant tools or know-how to get a project out to the world can be detrimental to my career. It hasn’t been all bad and as a larger percentage of staying in the game is not to lose focus and to having daily hope; that I’ll be discovered for my talent. Thanks to the digital age I was able to make contact with Intl Starz who have immensely helped my career. One of the primary challenges of residing in Zimbabwe, is that in my community we don’t have a consistent supply of electricity during the day. We are provided electricity during the hours of 10pm – 6am. Due to this fact, I never thought to myself that I would’ve been able to complete this album in a specified time, as my work hours is during the night shift. But working with Intl Starz have made it a possibility, especially in a time where I was close to just giving up and to quit music.

What was the last song you listened to?

Loneliness by Chronixx

Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?

Vinyl represents classics. I see my music as Classics; songs that are relatable to the people of this world and have generational story lines that will stand the test of time and that has a lifetime of value.

How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?

I’m a lover of all the musical platforms. It is my belief that I can learn something new from each platform. However, in my part of this world, Zimbabwe and Africa on a whole we do not have access to some of these platforms. Again, Intl Starz have helped to stabilize these services. Most of the Artists in my community are using Deezer

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness.
