Interview with Band of Silver – In Space!

Band of Silver

In this interview spotlight, I chat with Nashville’s Band of Silver about their latest project, motivations, challenges and more.

Full Q&A along with links and music below.

Where are you from and what style of music would you classify yourselves as?

We are from Nashville Tennessee and our music is pop rock with an eighties influence.

What led you down the path of music and what motivates you to stay the course?

We all came to music in different ways so I’ll give a band summary and individual stories.

As a whole, we are close friends who enjoy creating and playing music together. We love what we do and hope to make a career out of it and share our music with the world.

Alex: He has been playing music since he could practically walk. He would never set down an instrument, only pick more up. He says being in a music school band around the age of 12 is what led him down his current route.

Evan: He had to play an instrument as part of his homeschool course. At first, he took keyboard and hated it, so he bargained to take up drums if he could drop keys.

Avery: She developed a love of music in 8th grade when her dad made her a playlist of eighties rock songs to take on the road for an 8-hour bus ride to Cedar Point. She started homeschooling during her junior year In high school and was a good writer so she began helping Alex and Evan create lyrics for their songs. She eventually took up singing and joined the band.

Nikolas: He was classically trained in piano, and Alex convinced him to start dabbling in pop and rock.

How is In Space! EP different than your previous releases? Did you set out to accomplish anything specific?

It’s our first release and we wanted to make it high energy and fun.

Do you face challenges as an indie musician in a digital age? How has technology helped you (assuming it helps)?

We are still getting used to social media. No one in the band was on social media prior to joining. However, that’s only a minor issue. We’ve been able to advertise and keep in touch with our audience through the internet, mainly via YouTube, Instagram and Facebook, which has been very helpful.

Where can we connect with you online and discover more music?

To connect: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter @bandofsilver

To discover: bandofsilver.com, YouTube, Spotify

Anything else before we sign off?

We’re really excited to be back on the road and have music out for the world to hear.
