Interview with Centershift – Of…

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman October 3, 2022 10:14 pm Tagged With: alternative rock, California, Los Angeles, Rock, United States

Centershift

LA rock/alternative group Centershift have released their latest EP ‘Of…’ via Auspicious Recordings/Wolf Entertainment.

In this interview spotlight, I chat with Centershift about the music, dream collaborations, musical memories and more.

Full Q&A along with links and music (including the video for From Where We Are) below.

What’s something you’d like readers to know about your latest project?

With Onesidezero finally hanging it up, Ted and I had tried through the years to get a “project” started, but would be pushed to the side. This was our time to create the Band and Music that we both had written, but didn’t have a Home until now.

With the addition of Ryan Stuber, with his writing and feel for the Band, and Stefan Storace taking over the Drums from Mike T, the Band was complete!

How does this project compare with your other release(s)? Was there anything specific you were trying to accomplish?

We really wanted to get back to the roots of who we are and how this gift all started, the meant going back to Producer Jim Wirt, he’s had done the demos that got Onesidezero the attention and the Record deal with Maverick/ Warner Records, as well as The Bemus Record, it was the undeniable move for us.

What motivates you to create music?

Life is my inspiration, to be a voice if others can’t have theirs heard

What’s one of your first or most powerful music memories? Did that play any role in driving you to create?

I’d say, our first Oneside Tour, stepping out to the World having no clue what we were doing, or who even knew us, finding out that our Music meant something to people.

That was the inspiration for me to continue, and keep driving through all the ups n downs of life and this Career .

If you could collaborate with anyone – dead or alive, famous or unknown – who would it be and why? If it’s an indie/DIY artist, please include a link so readers can check them out.

This is an easy one, I have always been a fan of FAR, and as it happens, Centershift will be playing with Frontman, Jonah, One Line Drawing!

Over the years I’ve had the opportunity and pleasure of collaborating on many levels with my hero’s!

What was the last song you listened to? And who is one of your favorite all-time bands/artists?

Having a Label and Management Company, we get to hear amazing Artists on the Daily, this morning I was lucky enough to hear the Band, Serpen!!!

Where is the best place to find you and stay connected?

I try to stay very connected , Centershift Socials I am always talking with fans, from back in the day or new to the Family.

I really appreciate Your time. Anything else before we sign off?

We, Centershift, thank everyone for the warm welcome and all of the support!!!’
