Interview with the Incredibly Talented-Jasmine Rose

by Ben February 11, 2023 6:56 pm

Hi Jasmine Rose, thank you for doing this interview!

Hello, thank you so much for the oppertunity to be a part of this interview, and thank you for taking and interest in my music and myself as an artist!

After listening to your newest release “Metamorphosis” I am a new fan, How do you feel this project differs from the others I found from you “Sweet Love” & “Inner City” ?

With each project and release I make, I can see the growth, the difference in my music and where I am in my life based on the writing, the instruments and the structures of the songs. I am gaining more confidence in myself as an artist and in myself as a person. I loved this project as I felt less afraid to say how I felt through song. I felt I was able to experiment a bit more and I had so much fun writing this Album.

Each project is written from a completely different place. ‘Inner City; was written whilst I was still growing, getting caught up in the student life, it has a slightly darker undertone, a little bit of despair in the words I am saying, whilst still trying to hold on.

‘Sweet Love’ is much lighter, a lot simpler, written as a new chapter of my life was beginning.

‘Metamorphosis’ Is simply me continuing to grow, to stand up and speak up for myself. It’s reflecting the transformation of who I once was, leaving stuff in the past and beginning to love myself, my life, the people I have close and ignoring those who want to bring you down.

What’s an artist that has had an impact on the way you write and create ?

To be honest, I love so many different artists and I wouldnt say one specifically has had an impact on the way I write, However, I was brought up on Musical Theatre and I believe that has an impact on how I write. I love thick textures, specifically through vocal harmonies. Sometimes I have to strip my songs back because they sound a bit theatrical and when I write, I almost envision scenes to the songs, with characters and scenarios that fit what I am feeling. I love a lot of different artists from different genres and hope that as my music grows I can play around and try out other genres and styles as well as combine them into something a bit more unique.

If you could only use 3 words to describe yourself and your music, what would they be ?

I would say it was Harmonious, Alternative and Creative.

If you could choose any artist to feature on “Metamorphosis” who would it be and on which song ?

On this album as it has a bit of a rockier and emotive sound maybe, Pink, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish or Lizzo on ‘Rumours’ or ‘Let Me Live’.

What’s next for Jasmine Rose , what does the rest of 2023 look like for you ?

I am hoping to get some new music out there, as well as new music videos, progress and explore more with who I am as an artists. Get my music heard, start doing shows and just seeing what life brings.

Once again thank you for taking the time to answer these questions!

Where can the readers find you and your music ?

You can find me on Facebook, Instagram and twitter as Jasmine Rose Official and on all streaming platforms as Jasmine Rose, Thank you for allowing me to share my artistry.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
