Interview with Kid Bloom – Parent’s House

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman May 29, 2018 12:11 pm Tagged With: California, electro-pop, indie pop, Pop, United States

Kid Bloom-Parents House

In this interview spotlight, I chat with Kid Bloom about their latest release, challenges, motivations and more.

Full Q&A along with music and links below.

Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)

Kid Bloom is from Studio City, California and we are a funky, space pop band!

What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to stay the course?

We all just love music and realized that this is the only thing we are good at. It’s our passion and what we want to make a lifelong career of.

How is your new release different than previous ones? Did you set out to accomplish anything specific?

We didn’t hold back and just went for it!

Yes. The idea was to be retro, yet fresh, within a love song that others can relate to and create a story in their heads.

Do you face any challenges as an indie musician in a digital age? On the flip side, how has technology helped you (if it has)?

It’s sometimes difficult to stay relevant as an indie band today. Social media has proven to help a lot while also being difficult to curate. The internet is obviously brilliant by making it possible to listen to our music all over the globe through multiple different platforms so that’s been really helpful.

Where can we follow you online and hear more music?

You can find our music on all major music platform: Spotify, iTunes, Tidal, Soundcloud, and all info at www.kidbloommusic.com .

Follow us @kidbloom on Instagram and Facebook and @kidbloomusa on Twitter!

Anything else before we sign off?

Yes! Thank you so much for having us! AND for all of our LA based fans, we will be at The Roxy Theatre on June 12th . Tickets are on sale now.
