Interview with Loz Tinitoz – Diese Zeit

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman June 8, 2020 9:24 pm Tagged With: Europe, Germany, indie rock, Punk, punk rock, Rock

Loz Tinitoz

In this interview spotlight, I chat with singer Timo Januschewski from German based Loz Tinitoz. We discuss the latest music, challenges, technology and more.

Full Q&A along with links and music below.

Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)

We are from a Germany and our style is a mix of indie, hard rock and punk rock music. Our music is pretty varied because we have loud guitars in our songs but also sometimes electrical songs. Every song has a different an down style. It ´s pretty hard to pigeonhole us.

What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to keep going?

The first thing are our fans what drives us. It feels so good when someone comes up and says that he can identify himself/herself with a song and creates memories with that song and on the other hand we can find an outlet for our problems.

Whatever bothers us we can put that problem into a song which feels pretty good.

How is this new release different than previous ones? Were you trying to accomplish anything specific?

Our new single „Diese Zeit“ is more intimate. That song is about my current time as a single with all my struggles I ´ve been through. I m sick of tinder dates, thinking about my ex, doing stuff that is not good for me – that song was something like my personal wake-up call.

Name one or two challenges you face as an indie musician in this over saturated, digital music age? How has technology helped you (since we know it does help)?

It´s pretty cool to get heard so easily by a lot of people from all around the world – even with German music.

But otherwise is hard to earn something because no one wants to spend money for music anymore because it´s (alomost) free on the internet.

What was the last song you listened to?

I am really into american country music, so the last song I heard recently was Morgan Wallen with „Whiskey glasses“.

Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?

Honestly I am addicted to spotify cuz you can browse so easily through new music – so good!

But if you ask me a musician I like mp3s und CDs. Buy that stuff to support your favorite artist.

How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?

Spotify. Like I said before that is my platform of choice and it´s the biggest one.

Where is the best place to connect with you online and discover more music?

You can hear us almost everywhere. Hear us on spotify, apple music or amazon music.
