TheColdestNovember-Losing Myself

In this interview spotlight, we chat with TheColdestNovember about the newest release, influences, the digital music world and more.

Full Q&A along with links and streams below.

Let’s dive a little deeper into You, the artist and your music. What attracted you to this genre(s) or style(s)?

What attracted me to R&B would definitely have to be the Honesty and the Conviction Told in the stories over smooth beats that really help you feel the artist and put your feet in his or hers shoes. Raised by a single mom it was often played around the house, so it wasn’t hard for me to take a liking to it.

What led you into this journey with music? And further, what drives you to push it out to the public?

A series of events took place to lead me to music. One that sticks out the most though would have to be having multiple dreams of myself performing and thousands of people moving to my music. So i am literally chasing my dreams..

Who or what influences your creativity? Have your tastes in music changed over time?

The people in my Life definitely inspire my music. I tend to keep to myself so when i’m in a new relationship and the ship getting rocky i tend to just vent to my mic, That’s how “Losing Myself” was made.

Were you trying to accomplish anything specific on this new project? Creatively or otherwise?

My Goal is to change the soundscape of R&B and give birth to a new sound.

What was the last song you listened to?

Loner by Kali Uchis

Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?

Mp3s

How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?

I prefer Spotify because a lot of people are subscribed to the platform and its compatible with Apple and Android products. I never want to deter a Fan.

Other than the digital era overwhelming us with access to an abundance of music, what is the biggest challenge you face when trying to connect with or find new fans?

Being Found. That’s what drove me to create such a out of the blue name and brand myself the way i did.

Where is the best place to connect with you online? Discover more music?

Soundcloud.

Anything else you’d like to add before signing off?

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
