Gary Burk III-Friday Night

In this interview spotlight, I chat with Gary Burk III about his latest release, challenges, technology and more.

Full Q&A along with links and music below.

To read our feature on the single, Friday Night, go here.

Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)

I am from a little town north of Pittsburgh, PA. The music that I create is more of a twist between Todays country, and classic southern rock.

What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to keep going?

When I was 9 years old I was in the car with my dad, we were listening to a CD and I started singing along the rest is history. My family is what keeps me motivated to keep going, not only my family but also my fans. Playing my songs out and having people sing them back to me is the most satisfying feeling that I have ever felt in this industry.

How is this new release different than previous ones? Were you trying to accomplish anything specific?

The new release “Friday Night” has a much different approach than my traditional songs. I went with a more “Party Theme” So far the response has been extremely good and everyone seems to enjoy this new cut!

Name one or two challenges you face as an indie musician in this oversaturated, digital music age? How has technology helped you (since we know it does help)?

As an Indie Musican, I have found a lot of struggles getting airplay, however since Signing with MTS I have not had that issue anymore. Technology and the ability to share things on social media and other online platforms have allowed me personally to share my exciting adventures with over 10k followers daily.

What was the last song you listened to?

She got the best of me by Luke combs

Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?

Personally I Prefer MP3’s Much easier to store and have lots of music all in one place!

How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?

I am an Apple Fan, therefore I use Apple Music Daily! They have been my go to since day one. They have every song that I look for and I am able to quickly search for new artist.
