Some Assembly Required (video)

How long have you been playing?

I’ve been performing since I was 5. I’ve done Off-Broadway in NYC.

What do you do for fun? You know…besides music?

I love fashion, shopping, and finding bargains!

How’s the music scene in your home town?

I live in Nashville so it’s huge.

What’s on your personal playlist this week?

I listen to a lot of old Country, Rock, and always modern Pop music.

Can you pin-point the moment you knew you wanted to be a performing musician?

I have no idea? Just jumped on stage at 5 and since then never looked back. I have a degree in Music as well.

What are your goals? How far would you like to go? What is the next big hurdle?

As an Indie artist there are always hurdles, especially financially. Being able to make music without having to answer to someone is great but it also adds a lot of stress sometimes. I am currently recording new music with an EP to come as well as a video in the near future.

Describe one of your most memorable music moments.

I was playing in Kansas and a man came up to me and said “I had the worst week of my life and being here tonight, listening to your music, has made it better.” That was amazing!!

What song makes you dance when you’re cleaning house?

I often listen to Ronnie Milsap!

Tell us about your musical influences.

Patsy Cline, Linda Ronstadt, and Pat Benatar.

Where would you like to build a vacation home?

I love the ocean and love Miami!!!

How did you hear about Music Tree Fest?

Online

How do you feel about being a part of the Music Tree Festival?

Sounds like fun!

Do you have plans for Bonnaroo?

I will be at CMAfest

Is there anything else you want to say?

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
