Interview with TJ Leonard – The River

TJ_Leonard - The_River

TJ Leonard is back with another strong single “The River” and we were fortunate enough to grab a few minutes of TJ’s time for this brief interview about the new single. Be sure to check out our previous interview as well as Leonard’s previous release.

Welcome back to MTM! What should we expect from your new single “The River”?

Thanks!! It’s about growing up in a small village in the south of Sweden. The Mörrum River is like an artery running through the village. People are coming from all over the world to catch one of those big salmon or sea trout that’s made the river famous.

Me and my friends learned how to catch them when we was about 13. We practically lived by the river. We fished untill sunset, layed down in the grass for a couple of hours sleep and then went at it again the next morning. The summers were awesome! When the water was too warm for the fish to bite we took our air mattresses and were floating through the streams for about 5 miles almost all the way to the sea 🙂

How does it compare/contrast to your last release, “Remember Those Times”?

Remember Those Times was a ballad and this is more of an up tempo song. Remember had a serious context while The River is a happy song about good ol’ times.

Any big news or events happening for you since the last time we spoke?

I don’t know about BIG 🙂 but people over here are starting to notise me. I have a couple of gigs booked so it’s getting forward.
MTS Management is doing a great job and The River is climbing the charts. I’ve been nominated for a couple of awards so let’s hope for the best.

Between “The River” and “Remember Those Times”, do you like one song more than the other? Why?

Since I write about things about or close to me both of those songs are pressious to me but in different ways. I guess it depends on what mood you’re in if I have to chose one before the other 🙂
