Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)

Marc is from Chicago, Sean is from LA, and Rocky is from Phoenix. Our whole mission is that want to connect with people, make them dance, and make them feel a vast array of emotions. Our main influences are Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Coldplay, and beer, so we kind of naturally make music that combines all of those in an organic way.

What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to stay the course?

Music grabbed all of us at an early age, and we all spent a lot of years trying to make it in Los Angeles as songwriters and producers. Nothing was working out, so we all said “screw it” and decided to start a band with each other. The MOST important thing to us is quality over quantity. We think music has suffered in recent years because nobody can actually play instruments or write their own songs anymore! We write and produce all of our music ourselves, just the three of us. There really aren’t anymore rock stars or pop icons with true artistic voices, and we want to bring that back to the world.

How is your new release different than previous ones? Did you set out to accomplish anything specific?

This is actually our first release! We started the band in the fall of 2016, and ‘Animal’ was the first song we ever wrote together. We’re super stoked that it’s charting on radio right now, and we always want to keep outdoing ourselves.

What was the last song you listened to?

Marc: ‘Poor Fool’ by 2 Chainz
Sean: ‘Family Dinner’ by Snarky Puppy
Rocky: ‘Pretty Maids All In A Row’ by the Eagles

Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?

CD’s typically win out for us, but our DeLorean is actually in the shop now.

How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?

We all use Spotify pretty regularly, but anyone can find our music on all major platforms. Wink wink.

Do you face challenges as an indie musician in a digital age? How has technology helped you (assuming it helps)?

Technology is a double-edged sword. It’s helped us in a huge way because tens of thousands of people all over the world have heard our song, which we wrote, recorded, and produced in a tiny apartment in downtown Los Angeles. That being said, technology makes it super easy for anyone to make a song and put it out there nowadays. So there’s a lot more competition for budding artists…but we’re not too worried about it.

Where can we connect with you online and discover more music?

Our handle on all social media platforms is @thebandwolves. Look us up, follow us, and feel free to say hey! WOLVES don’t bite.

Also, here’s a link to stream the song on Spotify:

Anything else before we sign off?

Just want to thanks a lot for taking the time! Hope we can make it out to Tennessee one of these days. And don’t forget to download Animal!

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
