J. ROBBINS OF JAWBOX ON TOUR WITH JONAH’S ONELINEDRAWING

by Featured Guest November 2, 2014 12:39 pm

From Joan at Riot Act:

unnamed (7)J. Robbins–joined by his Office of Future Plans bandmates Gordon Withers (cello) and Brooks Harlan (keyboards, backing vocals)–has just released an EP titled “Abandoned Mansions” (https://jrobbins.bandcamp.com/) that features new acoustic arrangements of songs originally written by J. for Jawbox, Burning Airlines and Office of Future Plans, as well as a titular new track. J. will perform an acoustic set on this tour that features selections from his past and current bands, digging into the catalog of songs that he has written over the past two decades.

TOUR DATES:

http://officeoffutureplans.com/shows
11/13 Philadelphia, PA – The Boot And Saddle
11/14 New Haven, CT – Cafe Nine
11/15 Providence, RI – The Parlour
11/16 Cambridge, MA – Green Street Studios
11/17 Washington D.C. – DC 9
11/18 Baltimore, MD – The Metro Galler
11/23 New York, NY – The Mercury Lounge

Earlier this year, Jonah’s Onelinedrawing released a brand new album, “Me And You Are Two” (https://jonahmatranga.bandcamp.com/album/me-and-you-are-two). Along with J., he’s also begun a new side project/studio band called Moral Mazes (http://bridge9.bandcamp.com/album/magic-tommy-jackson); the debut 7″ (http://www.b9store.com/moralmazes) was just released on Bridge Nine Records (http://www.bridge9.com/). Fresh off a solo acoustic tour of the UK, Jonah can’t wait to meet up with J. for this series of East Coast shows.

J. tours very infrequently these days! Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see both of these legendary songwriters/bandleaders play some highlights of their songbooks.
