JD & the RetroRyders Brings a Vibrant Single to Life with “I Belong With You”

by Leslie Sherman October 10, 2023 9:16 am

Meet the talents of JD & the RetroRyders, a vibrant sextet hailing from Huntington Beach, California, breathing new life into the classic rock genre. Their sound is a harmonious blend of influences from rock legends such as Aerosmith, the Beatles, and Jefferson Airplane, all centered around the no-nonsense philosophy of “cut to the chase and hit that chorus” in the world of rock ‘n’ roll. Leading this musical expedition is Joe “JD” DeMeo, a native of New York, who embarked on his rock journey at the tender age of 12. While they channel the spirit of the ’60s and ’70s, JD & the RetroRyders are creating fresh, contemporary hits for today’s music scene.

JD DeMeo, the driving force behind RetroRyders as the founder, lead singer, songwriter, co-producer, and rhythm guitarist, emphasizes, “We sound like the classic bands because we’ve lived and breathed this music—it’s in our very DNA.”

Their musical magic doesn’t stop at the recording studio; JD & the RetroRyders electrify audiences with their captivating live performances. They’ve graced legendary venues like The Mint and the House of Blues and secured airplay on Rodney Bingenheimer’s XM Radio show, firmly establishing their presence in the rock scene. Taking inspiration from the late Tom Petty, the band’s mission is to uplift spirits and forge connections with their listeners, one anthemic hook at a time. Keep an eye out as they set their sights on conquering the festival circuit and continue to release top-notch rock ‘n’ roll.

Their latest release, “I Belong With You,” may evoke a sense of nostalgia for fans of the TV show ‘Friends.’ Whether you tuned in back in the day or are reliving the series, this track is brimming with infectious melodies, harmonies, and a downright contagious sense of fun, all while exuding the unmistakable vibes of ‘Friends.’ It’s an instant crowd-pleaser.
