K Shay Dropping New Album Singularity May 4th

by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman March 16, 2015 7:00 pm Tagged With: Hip Hop, rap, Virginia

Singularity by K Shay

K Shay is determined to succeed and his new album Singularity is the soundtrack for that passion and motivation.

With that said, this is one of the most motivational albums I have heard in a while. It’s great for exercising, long drives, or simply giving you an extra boost when you’re feeling sluggish.

A rapper and producer who dabbles in keys and guitar, K Shay owns Problem Studio based in Virginia. We’ve reviewed him before as part of the group Faction.

Releasing on May 4th, 2015, these 11 songs are a display of K’s dedication and passion to succeed as both an artist and a producer. Each track emanates top-shelf production displaying Shay’s ability to arrange, compose, and craft songs with the best of them.

Singularity is a statement on K Shay‘s ability to stand as a solo artist as well as his passion and dedication to succeed as not only an artist but as a producer and musician.

My only critique, and this is personal taste speaking, is it felt like every song was lyrically similar or close to being the same. Going back to my praise of this album as motivational music, themes of “making it”, “never slowing down”, “never being held back”, and “being ready when the moment comes” are prominent through each of the 11 songs.

Regardless, this falls in to the good Hip Hop music category unlike a lot of crap coming out of the urban genres lately.

You can grab Singularity on May 4th but in the meantime connect on FB, Twitter, or Soundcloud.
