“La Onda gives us a place to come together. The culture and the people make me feel like I belong – because there aren’t many places like this for us.”
That was the response from one attendee when I asked, ¿Qué significa La Onda para ti? And honestly, I couldn’t have said it better myself.
La Onda 2025 was definitely one to remember. This was my second time attending the festival, but this year I got to dive in deeper and really soak in everything the weekend had to offer. From catching a lucha libre fight (¡qué show!), to vibing in the indoor La Onda Club, checking out the spa area, which had de todo: a barber, hair braiding, IV drips, jewelry stands, custom tejanas, and more.
There were so many food vendors it was impossible not to find something for everyone. The energy from the people working the booths was just as warm and welcoming as the crowd itself, puro amor.
Even though some of us were sad that a few artists couldn’t make it due to visa issues, the onda never left. The spirit of the festival was alive y bien presente, the community showed up and showed out.
We also got the chance to talk with Sonora Tropicana, who shared a powerful message for the Latino community, one you won’t want to miss. On top of that, we got to know artists like Los Aptos, Christian Nava, MAR, Edgar Alejandro, Adriana Ríos, and Oscar Maydon a little more.
If you’re not already streaming their music — ¿qué esperas? Add them to your playlists ASAP. They were all super kind and made time to chat with us behind the scenes.
