Lara Johnston at Acme Feed and Seed July 24

July 17, 2015, Nashville, TN…Lara Johnston, daughter of The Doobie Brothers co-founder, Tom Johnston, is set to perform a full band show at the Acme Feed & Seed in Nashville, TN Friday, July 24. Lara Johnston’s powerful voice, dynamic stage presence, and soulful pop songs have captivated worldwide music audiences. During her set she will showcase new material from her upcoming debut album, “I’m planning a really high-energy, engaging show with new songs that I can’t wait to bring to the stage. My favorite part of being a musician is performing live and I’m so excited to bring my show to Nashville!”

An award-winning singer-songwriter, Johnston is the first-ever Grand Prize winner of the Unsigned Only Competition with her song “K.I.S.S.” The song also went on to win first place in the International Songwriting Competition’s Adult Contemporary division. Johnston has opened for acts such as KISS, Heart, and Willie Nelson and has performed as a background vocalist for Don Henley and Belinda Carlisle. In the fall of 2014 she completed an 11-date Canadian tour with The Doobie Brothers that was extremely well received, she is also opening up for the band on select dates this summer.

In addition to her extensive experience on the stage, she studied her craft at USC’s prestigious Thornton School of Music, where she graduated from the Popular Music Program. Currently writing for her debut album, Johnston splits her time between Los Angeles, Nashville, and wherever the touring road takes her.
