Must-See Artists at Bonnaroo Arts & Music Festival 2025: A Local’s Guide

Must-See Artists at Bonnaroo Arts & Music Festival 2025: A Local's Guide

Welcome back! I’ve read the email replies, and honestly guys, if you came back to read this one it’s on you, not me. I don’t know how old you think I am Kyndal from Tennessee, but I guarantee you ma’am I’m not a “boomer”. I can also guarantee you I do not wear my shorts to my armpits, nor do I own a pocket protector Ryan from Manchester, not funny.

I won’t let this deter me though from rambling on my front porch. The Tennessee sunrise is beautiful this morning, and I am sitting here pondering all of the great music festivals and events we host across this great State. The one I hold most dear to my heart is Bonnaroo.

With that in mind, I thought this week I’d give you the four artists I feel are can’t-miss-bands at this year’s Bonnaroo Arts and Music Festival. If you do go and however choose to miss them, shame on you! My neighbors can attest (simmer down Mrs. Nunley) these are bands I won’t stop blasting from my JBL party boxes (yes plural) on my front porch.

Dope Lemon

Let’s start with Dope Lemon. Angus Stone hailing from Australia performs under the name Dope Lemon. Dope Lemon has that alt/indie vibe that hits a sweet spot for me and first caught my ear in my suggested music. Rose Uptown Folks kept popping up in my Daily Lists and soon became so stuck in my head I had to search out the rest of his catalog. My top 3 song recommendations if you want to get a quick feel is “Rose Pink Cadillac”, “Uptown Folks” and “Marinade”. Dope Lemon dropped the album Golden Wolf on May 2 go check it out however you consume music.

Royel Otis

Staying in the land down under another can’t miss band is Royel Otis (apparently I have an affinity for Australian artists I was unaware of). They were on the top of my Roo wishlist and Bonnaroo delivered. Royel Otis checks all the boxes for me when it comes to music I want to hear.First popping up on my radar with “Sofa King” they have since become a staple in my musical rotation. Their cover of The Cranberries “Linger” has over 160 Million streams on Spotify alone. For me though “Foam”, “Nack Nostalgia” and “Motels” are daily listens.

Flipturn

Going from a band in my daily recommendations to one of my current favorites on the lineup Flipturn is a show I can’t wait for. “August”, which I think is their most steamed song, with it’s laid back vibe and understated but powerful vocals makes my queue when I’m sitting here on the porch enjoying life. “Sad Disco” and “Rodeo Clown” are two more of my favorites to check out if you want to get a feel for Flipturn and also just add good music to your playlists.

Remi Wolf

Last but certainly not least is an artist I’ve seen a little of once before but plan on catching the whole set this time, Remi Wolf. She’s amazing, my kids were slow to catch on but even they can’t stop listening to her! “Soup” is an earworm, “Toro” an ode when you just need it and you don’t care who hears is a fun song. “Cinderella” is a can’t miss as well as “Photo ID” and my personal favorite “Sexy Villain” which is just good cheeky fun. “Sexy Villian” is what first drew me to Remi Wolf it’s groove along with the semi humorous tongue in cheek lyrics has to be at every summer time pool party or cook out.

Well guys and gals if you read this far thanks again. If you read this far and are wondering why the heck am I reading this again see above and don’t blame me. I have two lists this week check them out and I’ll see you around.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
