World citizen, traveler and China based experimental electronic artist M Ray has delivered his debut solo project Urban Tales.

Growing up in Turkey, M Ray found himself in Bulgaria attending an American high school before eventually landing in China where he spent a few years touring with rock band FD5 as their keyboard player. He went back to Turkey to finish his degree and is now back in China writing and releasing music as a solo artist.

With his own flavor of downtempo, experimental electronic music, M Ray brings a life long love for piano and over two decades of refining his skills into the mix. Not afraid to push boundaries and stretch his creativity to the limit, M Ray‘s productions are a passionate, contagious, sonically enjoyable experience.

The Chicken Song, which is a really infectious jam, was made by sampling sounds from rubber chickens and then using post production effects and techniques to create unique yet engaging frequencies. You can watch the video below or on YouTube.

Every track on Urban Tales is equally grooving, equally infectious, and will leave you anxiously waiting for the next song. Once the album ends, you’re likely to jam it again. M Ray‘s song crafting abilities are as potent as his melodies, his rhythms and his distinctive approach to producing music.

I can’t choose a favorite song off Urban Tales as I really enjoy them all. The album is a cohesive unit which should be enjoyed from beginning until end.
