Madi Madej is a country artist hailing from Nebraska and has been singing and writing most of her life.

Madi has recently released two new singles “Will You Dance With Me” and “My Own Happy Ending.” She wrote “Will You Dance With Me” to encourage people to give others a hand up in life instead of putting them down.  She hopes it will also inspire others to look at people with more compassion.  “My Own Happy Ending” is a song that she hopes will inspire people to take hold of their lives and to believe in themselves.

In this interview spotlight, we chat with Madi about her influences, her newest releases, the digital music world and more.

Full Q&A along with links and the video for My Own Happy Ending below.

Where are you from and what style of music do you create? (In your own words, not necessarily in marketing terms or by popular genre classifications.)

MM: I am from Omaha, Nebraska.  I created a Country Pop style of music that delivers a positive and uplifting message.

What led you down this path of music and what motivates you to stay the course?

MM: At a young age, I saw how Carrie Underwood went from nothing to something and thought if she could do it, maybe I could too.  I am motivated to stay on this course to see how many people I can influence also.

Who or what are your biggest influences when it comes to your creativity?

MM: To me, I feel Jessie J spreads a positive message in such a creative way, I felt like I could also do that in my music.

How is your new release different than previous ones? Did you set out to accomplish anything specific?

MM: In my newest releases I am trying to provide a message to help people believe in themselves and pursue their dreams while realizing they are not alone in their journey.

Do you face any challenges as an indie musician in a digital age? On the flip side, how has technology helped you (if it has)?

MM: So far, I haven’t felt like I have faced many challenges in the digital age, if anything it has helped keep some initial costs down.

How do you feel about streaming services? Any romantic attachments to the physical formats: vinyl, 8-track, cassettes, CDs?

MM: At this point all I really know are streaming services and all my friends use them too.

Where can we follow you online and hear more music?

MM: You can always visit me at www.madimadej.com  All links to my music and social media are on my website.

Anything else before we sign off?

MM: Just want to say thank you for taking the time to listen to my music.  I hope it will inspire you and encourage you to be great and pursue your dreams.

As the collective attention span shrinks, Eddie Canyon finds himself searching for meaning within the noise. Reaching into and around his Arkansas roots, Eddie carves a distinctively southern Hip Hop undercurrent in his exploratory approach to music. Weaving tales of battling addiction, thoughts on spirituality, and irreverent social commentary into his lyrics, Eddie aims to intrigue his audience at the least, and at most, leave them with a liberating degree of thoughtfulness. In his own words: “The Matrix is real, but there’s a way out.” Support on Spotify or Bandcamp.
