I recently interviewed Nashville based rockers Malibu Blackout about their new single, What I’ve Done. You can find that interview here (opens in new tab).

Delivering an alternative rock experience with a garage rock attitude, Malibu Blackout are a group of guys doing what they do best…creating engaging rock and roll jams!

What I’ve Done kicks off as a garage rock barrage fueled by distorted guitars, melodic vocal lines and some nice vocal harmonies which accent specific lyrics throughout the jam. As the song develops into a more intense wall of rock sounds, the band eventually let’s go of all that tension around the 2 minute and 42 second mark as they treat us to a more ambient sound bed transitioning from garage rock grit into a more smooth and soothing alternative rock soundscape.

Malibu Blackout have made a strong introduction with this first single. The crew’s chemistry is undeniable.
